Task-orientated project work
Task-orientated project work can help to consolidate or even establish the meaningfulness of learning a foreign language.
Studying German in your native country is not always motivated by the desire to actively use the new foreign language. After more than twenty years working at Japanese universities, I know that the motivation to study German can be characterised by many factors. The motivation to actively use the language in a German-speaking environment is just one of them. And it is not very common.
The challenge is therefore to find tasks that refer to a meaningfulness beyond the course room and the next test. The solution to this problem is Task-orientated project workIf this meaningfulness can be conveyed to the participants, their motivation to learn and their commitment to the task increases. In my personal experience, the teacher's satisfaction with their own work also increases.
With this in mind and with this goal in mind, I have compiled a few project ideas here, some of which I have realised myself - sometimes several times.
Please feel free to comment on my ideas and add your own.
