Campus Deutsch - Reading

Campus Deutsch - Read uses five texts to teach students various techniques that they can use to independently analyse science-oriented texts. The topics of the texts are:

  • Reading - why actually? (basic text)
  • Learning to count (maths)
  • How language shapes thought (cultural studies)
  • Wood instead of steel and concrete (engineering science)
  • The imaginary remedy (medicine)

The topics mark independent chapters in which special working techniques for analysing texts are taught and practised. They are self-contained and can be used independently of each other in any order. Examples of working techniques for reading with comprehension are

  • Graphically represent difficult text contexts
  • Expand keywords
  • Mark negations
  • Dissolve text references
  • Targeted reading

These working techniques can be applied immediately during your studies.

Each chapter begins with a picture whose relationship to the topic of the chapter is not immediately obvious, as well as related tasks. The enigmatic nature of the image motivates your students, as they will only discover its solution in the course of the chapter.

Each chapter ends with a page on which the working techniques are repeated and consolidated.
